Perth Update

Hello everyone!! Yes, I'm back from Perth for like 4 days now and I was actually quite lazy to blog about my trip though i totally enjoyed myself throughout the 5 days there. The company was great, food was wonderful!! Praise and thank God for the wonderful experience! I really miss that place a lot and while I was on the plane back to Singapore, I actually felt very sad. haha... But yep, it's truly fun! The weather there wasn't too cold in the morning even though it's winter. But the nights are definitely colder... I so miss the coldness there because one step out of Changi Airport caused me to sweat, sweat and sweat. Actually, I felt the warm even before I step out of the Airport. Haiz... Anyway, day by day events are as follow:

Last wednesday morning, when I went to the airport, I found out that my flight was delayed by 40mins... So it was quite a long wait since I reached early. I actually didn't felt afraid or scared compared to the first time I went last year. I was more afraid of my diarrhoea coming back or my other condition that i opposite of diarrhoea. The only fear I got was when the plane took off and there was turbulence for quite some time. Other than that, all was fine. Thank God for allaying my fears and blessing me with peace throughout the flight. When I reached Perth, it was already raining outside and it wasn't that cold. Andre and I went back to his place because it was almost 4pm when we leave the airport and most shops would have closed by then. The first night was more of a supernatural thing because we watched quite a few episodes of Supernatural. Dinner was home cooked by Alex and Teresa!! It wasn't bad at all! Nice warm meal in the cold. Wahaha... I took pictures of ah seng and mrs roo, the things that I'd missed so much...

Sleeping in the night required some getting use to as the room was super duper dark when the lights are off and the silence was piercing. It was super duper quiet. Imagine the amount of light and noise pollution we experience here in Singapore. diao diao...

Day 2 was fabulous! The weather was great! Though it threatened to rain in the morning, it didn't in the end as the clouds in the sky cleared as the day passes. Praise God! Breakfast was fabulous. We went to my favourite pancake restaurant in the city for the all-day breakfast that I so missed!

After brunch (we reached city at around 11am to 12pm?), we did some souvenir shopping in the city. I wanted to buy some clothes so we went to Harbout Town shopping centre to get some cheap clothes. As the weather was extremely cooling and good, we walked there instead of train-ing there. (transport was quite expensive as they increased the price recently...)

After getting what we want, we walked through Northbridge (the chinatown of Perth) in search of the humungous packets of nougats. It was a long long search and I finally found what I wanted in a vietnamese provision store. We went to an asian supermarket to have a look too. And they actually sell lots of asian stuff like condiments, instant noodles, tidbits etc. Very cool!

As we were walking throughout Northbridge in search of the packets of nougats, we decided to stop by a restaurant called Icey Ice. They sell ice deserts that are very famous in taiwan. The ice shavings are so fine that it tasted almost like ice cream! Andre and I shared one mango ice which tasted great!

Then, we made our way to Carousel, a huge shopping centre in the suburbs. I did my grocery shopping there (buying of chocolates, biscuits and stuff... wahaha). And there you go, I completed most of my shopping in one day. Wahaha... Dinner was wonderful! We had take away from this japanese restaurant called Kanta which is very near Alex's place. It is a very small restaurant with 1 chef, 1 assistant chef and 2 girls helping out at the counter. All the cooking is done by the chef and everyone who work there is Japanese and they communicate with each other through Japanese. It was interesting to see the way they work. I had Terriyaki Fish which tasted so nice!

Day 3 sees us going to Perth City again for brunch. This time, we had japanese food at Samurai. The food there is cheap and not too bad. I had a chicken katsu don while andre had something which I can't remember. Haha...

I did some shopping at Woolsworth (a supermarket) before brunch because there were a few things which I forgot to get the day before. Wahaha... So after brunch, we made our way to Hillarys to visit AQWA (Aquarium of Western Australia). It was quite a long bus ride there after a train ride. The weather was not very good too as the sky was cloudy and it began to rain. But when we got off the bus, it stopped raining. In fact, whenever we were not under any shelter, the rain stopped. How great can God's blessing get? Woot! Initially, we couldn't find AQWA because we didn't know where it is. So we walked and walked and we found a huge building which looks like an aquarium...

It turned out that the building was actually the Naturaliste Marine Discovery Centre. So we went in to ask for directions. So paiseh... Haa... In the end, we found the right place and went in for a visit. There was nothing much in there. We missed the seal show as it started raining and the area wasn't sheltered much. So we decided to get some souvenirs before leaving that place. As I said, when we left the place, the rain stopped =X So we went to walk around at Hillarys and had a spot of tea for tea break at Gloria Jeans since we have time to spare. The classic hot chocolate that I ordered taste like chao tah... Not chao tah chocolate but CHAO TAH in general. No chocolate taste at all. Andre's coconut white chocolate thingy taste too coconut-ish and it looks kind of disgusting come to think of it. Numerous globs of stuff floating in his drink... eee... I didn't take a picture of it. Quite wasted. But it was interesting. Wahaha...

We then made our way to the bus stop, not knowing what time the bus would come. It was disgustingly cold at the bus stop as it started to rain!! So we were like stranded at the bus stop and while waiting for the bus to come, we entertained ourselves quite a bit with lame things.. haha...

On the train back, andre pointed out a beautiful beautiful rainbow to me! It was so so beautiful and I wanted to take a photo of it in the train, but I couldn't. By the time I reached the bus interchange, the rainbow was quite faded. Sadness... But I still took a photo of it...

I spent quite sometime at home, waiting for alex and teresa to come back so that we can go for dinner. We had dinner at this restaurant called Bella Rosa. The food there was ok. Not too fantastic. But I was super duper full when we came back. Wahaha... So that's how we concluded day 3.

Day 4 was fun! Wen, Andre, Alex, me, and one of their friends went to Swan Valley for lunch. We spent quite some time there. The view there was fantastic!! Totally beautiful, the vineyards and all. Sadly, me, being an idiot, didn't take much photos of the beautiful place there.... sigh... We headed to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory after that which sells lots of tasty chocolates. But me being an idiot again, did not buy anything from that place. I kind of regretted about not being productive that day lar! Tsk!!

We wanted to paint Wen's new place after the outing to Swan valley. But it was too late when he came back with the paint. So we didn't paint in the end. We went to a food fair organised by Andre's church. There wasn't much things there by the time we reached there. So in the end, we didn't eat much. Andre asked me what was the one thing that I want to do on my last night in Perth, and I told him that I want to eat an ice cream out in the cold. And I did in the end, after much encouragement from Andre and his friend. Haa... But it was freaking cold and my hands almost freezed from holding the ice cream. It's a mango sorbet thingy in a plastic tube and the ice cream was extremely hard!! And in the end, a girl had to help me push he ice cream out of the plastic tube... haha... We made our way to Wen's new place to have a look at it. His new place was not too bad. I guess when done up, it will look very very nice!!

My last day in Perth was a rather eventful one. Alex, Teresa, Andre and I went to Northbridge for dim sum. The dim sum was fabulous! It tasted so so good! Andre was like telling me that there as something that he didn't want to tell me before I fly off and I was wondering what it was. We were even discussing about plane crashes on the way to Northbridge when Teresa blurted out something about Qantas which Andre stopped her from telling me. I panicked for a while... haha... Alex sent me to the airport after our brunch and there I was, waiting to go back to Singapore. Apparently, my feelings was a direct opposite from the previous time. In december, I can't wait to go home, but that very day, I actually don't feel like going home, knowing that school is going to start and the stress is coming. But I still came home in the end lar. No choice right? Haha... My plane was delayed again. And I did quite a lot of shopping at the airport. I bought one box of tim tams back lar! haaa...

When I got back to Singapore, Andre told me about the explosion in a Qantas plane which caused a huge hole in the plane. I was totally shocked lar! Because as the plane was about to land, I felt something huge hit the bottom of my feet and there was a huge sound! haha... But thank God for allowing my whole journey back to Singapore to be a safe one. =)

All in all, my holiday at Perth was one filled with fun and enjoyment! I so miss that place now!! The people there are so helpful, polite and nice! And the company there was great! Praise God for all His blessings eh! Haa... Well, it's time to wait for school to start now.

I got back my QET results yesterday and I was so surprised that I passed!! I thought I would fail the test but in the end I passed it!!! Thank God for His guidance and blessings for me throughout the test. I guess without God's guidance, I wouldn't even passed the test. =))

Currently, I'm monitoring the bidding process in CORS. I know i very kiasu but I really want to get all the modules that I want. WAhaha... Hopefully all goes well eh! =)

Live from Perth

Hello everyone! My holiday at Perth so far is great! wahaha... Yesterday, had breakfast at the pancake restaurant. I've been craving for their pancakes ever since my arrival to Perth. They are so yummilicious! Then, we walked all the way to Harbour Town to do some shopping since the weather was good (it wasn't too cold in the morning, aircon cold only). Bought some new clothes from there. woohoo! I shan't type out minute by minute account of what happened. wahaha... But so far it's been great! =) Food's great, shopping's great, company's great! So yep! Will come home and blog more with pictures. Tomorrow will be Swan Valley day! Can't wait! =)

Perth... Here I come...

So the day has arrived. Surprisingly, I'm not over-excited like how I was previously. In fact, it feels unbelievable that I'll be flying off tomorrow. Time passes so so quickly. Too quickly I guess. Well, this is the day! I hope it will be enjoyable one (i'm sure it will!). I pray for God's guidance, blessings and protection through my whole 5 days there. Praise God for giving me this chance to have a short short holiday overseas! wahaha

It's winter over there now. And I've been monitoring the temperature at Perth for the past few days (I know I'm crazy... haha). It's really cold! Hopefully my training in Korea can be put into good use. I hope! Wahaha...

Oh yea... QET was disgusting. I had a really bad diarrheoa which caused me to nearly faint on Thursday! And I thought that my doctor would give me an MC for the exam. However, I think he got the impression that I must go for QET the next day so he gave me potent medicine to stop the flow , if you get what I mean. Now, I'm constipated =X This is bad bad bad... wahaha... Anyway, it's all over and I place my worries in God's hands. Whether I pass or fail, it's entirely up to Him now. But I have to praise God for blessing me with alertness and energy to do the test because I couldn't sleep the night before. Yep... God is truly great! =))

Alright, I shall end off here. I might be able to blog when I'm over there in Perth but I will have to see how first. Cannot be so thick skin, stay people house still use people computer/electricity/internet. They all cost money eh... Haa... Take care everyone! =)

QET 1

I was so hoping that I can take my QET in November since it is in the afternoon and my biological clock is more or less accustomed to school timing. But I received the reply from registrar that I have to sit for it this fridy because I matriculated early. This is bad. After looking through the sample QET paper, I'm actually quite scared that the standard will be the same, if not harder. It's actually quite difficult because a lot of inference is required for the comprehension (even though it is only MCQ). The essay is also quite worrying as it is very current affair-ish and the topic is fixed. So I'm praying real hard that I will be able to pass it because I don't want to waste my time to take the english support modules. I pray that God will bless me with peace at heart and a focused mind to brave through this. =)

Results... again...

I was really excited and happy that I was given a chance to apply for Life Science Minor even though I'd missed the deadline. Apparently, one of the personnel at the life science department appealed for me. And I am very very grateful and at the same time, I felt really blessed. Today, I've received an email from the life sciences department that my application is unsuccessful as they felt that my biology was not strong enough since I got a B for my A levels. Haa... Oh well, at least I've tried. I felt a little disappointed though, because I'm seriously very interested to minor in Life Sciences. But, if it's God's will, let it be so eh =) At least I'm still offered a chance to apply again in semester 2! So I shall use this as a motivation and work very hard to pull up my CAP score! Praise God for what He's done eh!

Monday's outing with Daren and Eugene was kinda interesting. We had a blast at Shokudo and I guess we were laughing a little too loudly. But all's good eh. Watched the movie Hancock and frankly speaking, I'm still baffled by the storyline. The change of focus is quite sudden I think. So conclusion is, I will never ever watch it again (though it's definitely better than cloverfield......)

Right, I've been thinking quite a lot after what happened yesterday. Seeing someone break down in anger and frustration really made me think how much I have done to help the choir. Seriously, one's patience has one's limit and once it's being pushed beyond that level, things will turn nasty. I can understand how he's feeling, being pushed so much and trying to do his very best so that he won't let anyone down. But then, because of certain situations or events, he is unable to produce his best since he was bypass-ed rather often. Furthermore, I think I've given him much pressure after a long talk with him a few weeks back. Everything seems to culminate to that breakdown yesterday and I'm truly saddened, and at the same time, angered by how things are happening. I don't know what I'm going to do but I pray that God will bless these young charges with a discerning mind and courage to step forward and settle this properly. I pray that no dispute will result from this and I pray that, no matter how hard things can be for them, they will persevere through and give their very best in time to come as they learn from their mistakes and become more independent. Amen.

Of NDP and Fireworks

Before I begin, I want to wish Daniel a very happy 21st birthday!! =)

Alright, I'm extremely exhausted. After lunch, I just fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours. I'll be attending ACJC Choir's concert tonight. It'll be my first time attending their concert and I can't wait to hear them sing... wahaha...

Yesterday's NE Show was............. okay, no too bad. The only exciting stuff this year are the combined performance of SAF band and MP, the air display by the black knights, and the fireworks. They're very very very cool! Especially the air display! Here are some photos of the air display...

Here are some photos of the SAF Band and the MP doing their display stuff.

And lastly, some nice photos of the fireworks! Woohoo!!

I have some random photos here too... of umbrellas and other things........

The main character in this photograph is the parade commander... not the umbrellas...
I quote, "Please rise to welcome the cabinet ministers...... simulated"

This MP was standing at that exact same spot throughout the whole 4 hours of the show. Cool...

Yup, that's it for NDP. Most of the photos are close ups of the Montfort section of the choir. Don't ask why... wahaha...

=)

For a funny reason, I woke up automatically at 10am today, the time when results are released. Since I was awake, I thought, why not check out my results then. A B pop into my mind when I was about to check it out, though I didn't really expect much. And so, the moment of truth came... I got a B+! I'm extremely happy about it because I didn't expect myself to do this "well". Yes, I know it's not an A, but after going through all the shit, I'm actually very happy to get what I have. Praise God for His blessings eh!! =)

I'm quite exhausted now actually. 10am might be quite late but I've been waking up late recently because I haven't been sleeping early since the beginning of my short holidays. Hee...
I'll be going for the NDP NE show tomorrow. Thanks to the choir teacher in charge for inviting me! It will be interesting to go to see the 37 montfort boys shake their booties with the other 360 ppl on the floating platform. =)

Results...

Results for my module will be out tomorrow at 10am. I'm thankful that I am feeling very peaceful and calm about it. I've come to the point where whatever results I get won't matter anymore. In fact, as I was sitting in front of the television during dinner, I felt warmth, comfort and peace which is definitely blessed upon me by God. I actually felt this calmness spreading through me from head to toe. I'm going to lift my results up to God for whatever my results maybe, it is a blessing from Him! Be it good or bad, it doesn't matter anymore. What matters is that I've learnt and now know that no matter what difficulty I face, God is always holding my hands and guiding me through it. It is all God's blessing! So whatever my results may be, let it be so! =)

Aussieland, here I come!!

And so I've made my decision. I'll be going to Perth in July for a short short holiday!! I will be flying off on 23 July (wednesday) at 9.05am and will be back in Singapore on 27 July (sunday) at 8.55pm. I'm so so so so looking forward to it!!! It's quite a huge surprise for me because I didn't even plan it in advance. Now, I have less than a month to plan where to within the short 5 days. It's going to be winter there so I guess there will be lots of sightseeing instead! I hope I'll be able to take more pictures this time round!! Andre is nice enough to allow me to stay at his place so I'm not complaining anything. This short holiday is self funded!! So I'm quite proud of myself (haaa... my hard earned money, sweat and blood involved) and at the same time, I feel the pinch because it took me quite long to save to that amount in my bank! If I did not buy my laptop and go for this holiday (and the previous perth trip as well), I could have reached my all time high record! But I guess what's more important is our physical well being than money. I can always earn back the amount of money spent (it will take a super long time unless I get myself a well-paid job). Wahaha... Oh well.. Praise God for taking away all my inhibitions and allowing me to have a clear mind to make this decision! =)

Should I or should I not?

I was out with Andre today since he has flown back to our sunny island for the holidays. I was telling him how much I would want to go back to Perth again for a short holiday and he actually asked me to fly back with him in July. After checking the Qantas website, I realised that no seats are available on the day he is flying back! But I can always fly over on another day if I wanted to. I am so tempted by the offer! Was hoping all this while that I could just go somewhere for a short holiday before going back to school to face studying all over again. However, there is this problem of money because air tickets are not cheap these days. Even though I get an offer price for flying off next month, the overall price of the return tickets (after adding tax) is a whopping $800 plus, more than what I paid for last year where the price before tax i much more than that now. Oh well, I guess I'll have to discuss with my parents before I make the decision. But I so want to go!!! It's winter there now!! I miss the relax and laid back life over there at Aussieland! well well well...

Anyway, I've watched the movie "Get Smart" today. Not too bad a show. It's definitely very very funny! But I don't think it's worth watching the second time. Wahaha... Andre also showed me a video taken 2 years back which brings back so much fond memories of my NS times. Wahaha... It' super embarassing though. I act like a crazy deranged clown in it but it is still very very funny! Missed those times... wahaha...

Of AO pang be bobby ao ao and dada

Finally, after one million years (1 year 4 months 21 days to be exact), I got to see AO pang be bobby ao ao aka bob the builder aka spongeybob rotten pants aka bobby aka bo'en (real name) today. Wahaha... It's great to have finally met him after so so long. The last time I saw him was the day he ORD-ed and that is like a long long long time ago lar. Tsk... And of course, got to see dada again! The last time i saw him was last december which is quite long ago as well! So yippee! Get to crap with pang be in person! The friendly exchange of insults is so thrilling! Never fails to crack me up! haha... The photo below shows Pang Be's electric personality (or him chanelling storm... both works fine)...

And this other photo shows the dark side of dada... wahaha... He looks dangerous...

So funny! Enjoyed myself today. Could have been able to come up with more witty comments to spar with bobby but I was too tired (slept at 5am in the morning because I couldn't sleep.. dunno why also.. hurr) to do so. Haha... But it was funny nevertheless =) Praise God for the day =)

Life's uncertainty...

Looking back at the things I've done and am doing, I kind of wonder where I'm actually going. I guess I've reached this stage where everything seems to be in auto mode, i.e. each day has become a routine and everything just seems to fall into place nicely. Hmmm... I just feel a little weird suddenly. Half a year has just gone by unknowingly. It feels as though I've just attended watchnight service yesterday. It's quite unbelieveable that I just completed Special Semester Part 1 and I'm having my holidays now. I just feel as if I've never even stepped into NUS before and all the things that I've done and learnt just appear right in front of me. Being in the music room at Montfort seems weird too. There's this familiar feeling in the room but everything looks so different. It feels very deja vu-ish but the fact is, I was a student at montfort and was prancing around the room as president 5 years back. 5 years seems like a long way back but to me, it feels as if it's just yesterday. This brings me to the question of whether I've grown up at all...

Looking back at all the things I've been through, I can say I've grown to a certain extent. God has guided me through a long long way and I'm really thankful to have come to know Him, our God who lives and reigns forever. Seriously, I don't know where I get the strength to persevere through my A levels, the mental energy to actually withstand the harsh environment (though I was a clerk, the stress is still there due to the nature of my work) and the key to start my engine for special sem... All these are God's work and I give Him thanks and praise for helping me through each phase of my life. I don't know how my life will be like without His guidance... I think I might be in Mental Hospital by now knowing how I can get. God is so great! Without His healing touch, my A levels would have been a repeat of my O levels. Without His presence, I would have given up University education altogether, knowing how tough things can get. Without His forgiveness, kindness and care, I wouldn't have been who I am today. I'm thankful and blessed. Very very blessed. =)

Therefore, who cares what happens tomorrow right? Life is like a mist, you'll never know when you will leave this world. All my treasures are up there in heaven so why should I focus on all things temporal? Jesus said, "Who of you can add a single hour to your lives by worrying?" (I think I've quoted that before... hee) S0 why worry about tomorrow when you can spend all that time treasuring the things that are happening today? Jesus also said, "Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough worries of its own." Matthew 6:34 Which brings us back to the question, why worry? I shall see to it that all worries will be dissolved from my little mind and just have faith in Him. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Phillipians 4:13 No matter how difficult a situation is, He will provide a way! That I shall remind myself always. Praise God for His words and promises.

Teaching... Hmmm...

The size of my tuition class has increased from 3 to 10 students. I was telling Daren the other day that I would very much prefer to teach a larger class but regretted saying that last week. The more students I have, the noisier the class becomes which means the more shouting I have to do. But luckily for me, I managed to capture their attention yesterday (Praise God for that!) with new techniques employed... Wahaha... I've moved on to using powerpoint instead of journal to present to the class and I did live demonstrations for them to see the wonders of Science... wahaha... But they were surprisingly better (note: better, not well...) behaved than usual and I am super happy with them.

Over the weekend, I toiled over the stove, boiling red cabbage in water so that I can extract the pigment in the leaves to get a pH indicator. The colour change happened at home but it didn't work for bakin soda yesterday night. I guess the baking soda did not dissolve completely to produce the hydroxide ions to cause the colour change. But still, it's kind of puzzling... wahaha... Oh well... It's over... I'll have to start squeezing my brains and think of how the physics part of sec 1 science can be made interesting... wahaha

By the way, Congrats to NUS Choir for obtaining 100/100 for the 2 categories they took part in for the Grand Prix St Petersburg 2008!! They rock eh!! woohoo!! =)

End of GEK1521

I had my last lecture for this module and I'll be having my final test tomorrow. Somehow, I'm feeling really confident for this test. I think i understand everything that I've learnt so far and there's this peace that I'm feeling. Praise the Lord for His blessings! However, I'm quite worried about this confidence that I have now because I'm quite scared that I missed out certain stuff. But I've done my best by recapping every topic for tomorrow so I shall just not worry and let God do His thing. I must thank Sophie for her prayers and again, Song Choon, for his encouragement too. Thanks for the reminders ya? =) It's nice knowing that people do care for you and I'm really very very appreciative of all the care and kindness showered upon me. Praise God! The presence of God has been so real each day. It's as if I can literally see Him beside me during lectures, on the way to school, coming back from school. It really gives me the peace that I need. Thank God!! =)

Anyway, let me feature 2 videos. One by the triumphant MJChoir performing my favourite song, Luk luk lumbu, and the other by VS Choir, singing noyosa. It's really cool!!

Videos of MJChoir and VS Choir performance and olomouc can be found in the following youtube links:

Of school and stress...

I am so so so so tired. Apparently, I was not able to sleep for the past few nights. Last night was the worst as I slept at 4 plus am and woke up at 8am to go to church. Surprisingly, I managed to survive through service though I was super sleepy through service. I still feel very guilty about that part. But Praise God for hearing my prayer for things could have been worst.

The past week has been quite stressful for me. It made me feel as if I have taken a greek module instead of a physics one. I just don't understand a single thing the lecturer was talking about because it was super quantum physics and it is all so so cheem. And I heard that I'll be learning that in modern chemistry too. May God bless me through that module eh. But once again, Praise God for I managed to understand the concepts today through reading the textbook and forcing my poor brain to think. Suddenly I felt so stupid. But I know I have to pull through this because things will not be easy from now on.

Also, I've been busy with my term paper because the deadline is coming soon. Had quite a few group project meetings through the week and I am very happy that we have been quite productive. Everything is done and now we are cleaning up the essay and standardising everything. I really hope that we can do well for this paper because it looks impressive... haha... And we sweat blood, vomit blood, excrete blood for this paper... So hopefully we get a decent grade. I won't ask for the best grade but I pray that we get what we deserve. This is the first time i have to reduce the number of pages to the essay so that we don't exceed the limit. It's super difficult and I think all of us can be english teachers after this module. We shortened sentences and combined sentences in the best way english allows us too... Really... Can puke blood i tell you...

And lastly, Ive been pondering about whether I should drop my geography module. And it has contributed to my sleepless nights. Today, I've finally made the decision to drop it and take a break in July. Many thanks to Joanne who has been listening to my complains, whining and po ma-ing about this matter and song choon for providing the best logical answer to the question in mind (i.e. cannot take it, drop it). haaa... I really wanted to take the module because it sounds interesting. But after one GEM module, it sort of exhausted me. I don't know how I'm going to handle 5 modules when school officially starts. I pray that God will bless me with the strength to persevere and pull through this. Jesus said," Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?" This is so so true. So I'm lifting up my worries to God and I pray that whatever His will is for me, let it be so. I must grow in Him and be strong for He is always by my side regardless of circumstances. Praise God!

Oh well... I guess it's time for me to go to bed. My last and final test will be on this coming Thursday. I really hope i can do well for this module!!!! Whatever God's will is, let it be so! =))

MJCHOIR ROCKS MY SOCKS!!

WOOHOO!! MJCHOIR is the superior category champions for the olomouc competition!!!! A whooping 99/100 for superior category and 94/100 for the other one... THEY ROCK!!! I'm so proud of them!!!! All the best MJChoir!

This is the day eh! Today will be the competition day for MJChoir at Olomouc! Praying and hoping that their efforts and long training will pay off today! They will be on stage at 3.40pm and 5.20pm SGT for their 2 categories! May they be filled with confidence, do their best, do themselves, school and friends proud, and most importantly, enjoy the experience!! =))

God's Promises

Thanks Sophie and Jonathan for reminding me that God will always be there fore me. And thank you to the rest who encouraged me! God indeed works in mighty ways and I am actually quite surprised that even Jon, who is not a christian by the way, reminded me about how great God is.

Jon actually told me this,

God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He loves in way we cannot see
he will make the way for u
he will be your guide
hold u closely to his side

How great God works indeed! Hallelujah!

Anyway, I've finally finished my component for my essay. But I think I've typed too much. Hopefully I'm able to cut down!!! haha... Shall see how things go eh... =)

And the results...

I just got back my term test 1 results today. I am actually quite sad for doing not so well for my first paper. And the worst thing is, 44% of the cohort got marks 40 and above which means the bell curve will shift, leading to me getting a low pass. And after doing some simultaneous equations, i find myself really stupid for attempting questions which I am not sure of. If there is no minusing of marks, I could have gotten a 40 out of 55. But because of my itchy fingers, I went to attempt and got 14 questions wrong, leading to a final score of 36.5. Haha... But I guess this is God's way of teaching me a lesson, on decision making and of course, to make me pay the price for being so complacent. So it' my fault ultimately... seriously and I praise God for teaching me poking me in the right places so that I can wake up my idea. If not I would have continued to be lazy and get my priorities wrong all over again. Praise God for this wonderful lesson! For without this lousy results, I would not have been so motivated to want to start studying for my second test and give my very best for my term paper. I really want to get an A+ for this module! So I guess it's time for me to work hard! And I pray that God will guide me through this process because I am certainly quite tempted to be lazy most of the time.

Speaking of my term paper, I've been facing the difficulty of finding diagrams for my paper. So i end up making my own using powerpoint and paint. I am actually quite amazed that I can produce such diagrams with powerpoint... haa... here's a diagram of the experimental setup for microcap dialysis used in protein crystallisation...

Isn't it cool? Haaa... Alright... time to do my best for my term paper... Woot!

Term Test 1

Finally, after a million years hiatus from studying, I got to take my first test in uni. I really have to praise God for guiding me through because without Him, I know I wouldn't have been able to go that far through the test. When the test started, i actually panicked after looking through the first few questions. I seriously could not think properly and my mind was raising and not concentrating on the paper. But constant prayer calmed me down. I managed to sit through the paper, and even relook at those difficult physics questions which I thought was impossible to solve. It was really miraculous that I could actually make sense of the question and find a logical (to me at least...) explanation for each answer. Praise God for his guidance for I would have been in a nervous wreck througout the paper without His guidance. Hallelujah. I am also very blessed to have such a nice lecturer who extended the test by half an hour even before the paper started. How cool is that... All I can do now is to pray that I've done well for the test for I've already did my best. =)

Also, I'll be taking Geography for the second part of special term! How interesting... It has been 7 years since I last touched geog and I don't know how I'm going to die. But no worries as of yet. I have to clear my last 2 hurdles before having to worry about it. Hopefully my term paper turns out well and I pray that my final term test would be easier. The interesting stuff are coming in, like teeth and bones... Oooh...

Lastly, my juniors from MJChoir will be flying off to Czech Republic in 8 minutes time! I really pray that they will do well for the competition. I know they can do it because this batch of people are really good!! I pray that they will enjoy themselves, have confidence in themselves and do themselves proud because they have been practicing really hard for this competition. All the best to them and may God bless them! =)
